Partnership and support
Since 2019, Aflatoun International and CED have worked together closely to deliver the Aflateen+ course with the goal to develop higher levels of financial literacy in Vietnam. The two organisations have formed this partnership to develop and deploy various activities and training courses for teachers and students, with a focus on bringing financial and gender-based education to young people in the country and encourage a financially astute generation with responsible financial behaviours and attitudes. What CED’s staff members like best about the Aflatoun methodology is that it is easy to implement and follow, with high quality training materials that focus on active learning/teaching and boost active participation.
Within Vietnam, CED has conducted a review workshop with 47 participants to assess the program. Representatives of the Ministry of Education and Training, representatives of educational institutions, representatives of other NGOs, and representatives of teachers in participating schools all attended in order to discuss and better evaluate the contents and activities that have been piloted in Vietnam.
In total, CED has trained and coached 195 teachers and delivered the course to 1,802 students in Hanoi, Cao Bang, and Dien Bien provinces. CED has organized training courses for teachers at 7 high schools in Cao Bang province, 5 high schools in Dien Bien province, and teachers at Thuc Nghiem high school and Nam Tu Liem secondary school in Hanoi. The program has been delivered in these schools by CED trainers and trained teachers to hundreds of enthusiastic students, both in-person and online.
